Michael Peglau Paintings March 1 – April 5, 2008

“…Like most of the paintings in this show, the work involved the sense that there is a deep harmony, or structure that can be perceived in the natural world that has some kind of resonance that fits in our minds, not unlike some kinds of music that can ‘fit’ in the mind. The notion of harmony seen in natural forms is very important to me.” Michael Peglau on ‘Kolob (morning).’

“Hayden Peak is different in the morning. The shadows cast by sunlight, its massiveness and severity are extremely vivid and over-powering. The severity or harshness of cliffs, and overall form, bring to mind for me the great forces that course through nature, and the hardness of the light and its radiance, make the mountain utterly different in the morning, as against the afternoon.” Michael Peglau on ‘Hayden Peak (morning)’
